The Freetrailer is fully insured but if you damage it, then you need to pay an excess of kr. 500.
Vehicle Damage Cover
You can choose to purchase the Vehicle Damage Cover which is an option that relieves you of financial responsibility if the trailer is damaged or stolen. This cover costs kr. 39 per day and the excess amount is reduced to kr. 0.
If you use the Freetrailer for more than a day, you need to pay kr. 39 per day of rental. This includes Sundays and bank holidays when the stores are closed. So if you rent the trailer on a Saturday and the store is closed on Sunday, then you return the trailer on Monday morning at no extra rental cost but if you have chosen to purchase the Vehicle Damage Cover, then you must pay for two days of cover.
What Our Insurance Does Not Cover
Our insurance does not cover the loss of the keys, power cables or locks that were provided to you with the Freetrailer. If you lose any of these, then you must pay a compensation of kr. 500 per item lost.
Our insurance does not cover gross negligence. If you overload the trailer and it is damaged as a result, then you are not covered. You will need to pay for the repairs. Please make sure that you do not transport any load heavier than 375 kg. If you are drunk when driving around a Freetrailer and you are involved in an accident, then you will be liable for the cost of the repairs to the damaged trailer. You would also be responsible for any repair costs if they are a result of your improper operation of the trailer, such as forgetting to retract the stabiliser jacks before moving the trailer.
Our insurance does not cover in any way the vehicle that is used to tow our Freetrailer. The tow vehicle must meet all legal requirements, without exceptions.
Our insurance does not cover any of your belongings. Your personal home insurance or tenant's insurance may cover them. You are the only one who can access this information. We are not permitted to voice any opinion on this matter. Please check with your own insurance policy. Remember to always lock the Freetrailer!
