General Conditions
(1) The trailer must only be driven by the person(s) listed on the rental agreement. It must only be driven in Denmark (Faroe Islands and Greenland are not included). If the trailer is used outside of Denmark, it is at the driver's risk and Freetrailer reserves the right to claim compensation for any losses or damage linked to the trailer.
(2) The trailer must not be used for the transport of people.
(3) Freetrailer ApS is responsible under Danish law for the general rules on liability and product liability.
(4) Freetrailer is not liable under any circumstance for losses, profits or other indirect loss of bearings of third parties.
(5) The trailer must be returned to the Freetrailer drop-off location not later than the time stipulated on the rental agreement, and in a clean condition. The trailer is only considered as returned once the customer has received a receipt. If the trailer is rented on a Friday and it is not returned on the Saturday, then the Sunday counts as an extra rental day.
(6) If the trailer is kept beyond the return date stated in the rental agreement, the customer will pay Freetrailer for each extra rental day. If the customer has not extended the rental period before the end of the rental agreement, then Freetrailer can request the possession of the trailer through an immediate claim without collateral at the tenant's expense.
(7) The rental period can only be extended through written agreement with Freetrailer. It can be done either through www.freetrailer.dk through "My Booking" or by contacting Freetrailer directly. The agreement is only valid when the cutsomer has received written confirmation from Freetrailer. If the trailer is not returned at the stated time in the rental agreement, then Freetrailer reserves the right to charge a fee of kr. 300 in addition to the extra day rental fee of kr. 185.
(8) All borrowed and rented trailers are insured by Freetrailer. If the customer damages the trailer or related equipment, or if equipment is lost, then Freetrailer is entitled to withhold kr. 500 from the deposit to cover the damage or loss. Freetrailer cannot withdraw any amount beyond the deposit unless the damage results from the customer's gross negligence or improper operation of the trailer, such as forgetting to retract the stabiliser jacks before moving the trailer.
(9) If the trailer is stolen, Freetrailer is entitled to withhold kr. 500 from the customer's deposit to cover the excess for the insurance. However, if the theft is a result of the customer's intentional or negligent conduct, then Freetrailer has the right to make the customer liable for the theft.
(10) When the customers pick up the trailer, they are responsible for checking whether it is damaged or not and if all lights and signals work.
(11) The customer has the right to report all damages and defects on the trailer. However, this report should be done as soon as the defects and damages are noticed, no later.
(12) For sales, there is usually a 14 days refund policy. However, Freetrailer offers a service which is given during a very specific time period, therefore there is no refund possible once the rental time has started.
(13) The customer is responsible for having a liability insurance for the tow hitch on the vehicle that will be towing the trailer. Such insurance is not always automatically covered by the vehicle's insurance.
(14) The customer is required to possess a valid driver's license. If this is not the case, then Freetrailer has the right to prevent the rental of a trailer.
(15) Freetrailer can always cancel a reservation if they consider that there is an abuse of the Freetrailer concept. A trailer can only be rented twice to the same person within a period of 40 days. If a Freetrailer is rented for more than 2 consecutive days to the same person, with different rental agreements, then Freetrailer will regard this as an abuse of the Freetrailer concept and has the right to charge for this period and/or prevent the rental of a trailer to this customer.
(16) Please note that if the customer does not pick up the Freetrailer at the agreed booking time, then they will be charged a No Show fee of kr. 185, taken from the deposit. If a customer does not want to use the trailer anymore, then they must cancel their booking at least one hour before the start of the original rental agreement. Cancellations can be done on this site by going to the homepage and into "My Bookings" in the blue box on the right. Customers must enter their details and follow the instructions.
