Freetrailer is Experiencing Explosive Growth

1750 customers had used a Freetrailer before Freetrailer found customer number 1000, Jonas Gaarde Rasmussen, to award him an original painting by the artist Hornsleth.

Freetrailers with their distinctive advertising panels have been very visible in the streets. And word of the free trailers ran wild after the presenter of DR Rabattens Henrik Dahl, recommended his viewers to use the concept.

By the time the people behind Freetrailer were able to track down customer number 1000, Jonas Gaarde Rasmussen, an additional 750 trailers had already been used. There is room on the wall for Hornsleth's painting as Jonas has just moved in with his girlfriend.

That's why he had used a Freetrailer in the first place.

"My girlfriend and I moved in together and we needed a new dining table. We found one at IKEA but it did not fit in the car."

Normally, advice is expensive but for Jonas it was free. From previous visits to IKEA, Jonas and his girlfriend knew that at IKEA Taastrup, you could use a Freetrailer for free. Jonas does not drive on a regular basis but he borrowed his parents' car, bought the dining table and then got on with it.

"I had a really hard time to install and handle the trailer. Later on, I discovered a guide inside the trailer."

Jonas had no problems driving around with a trailer, even if he had never done it before. However he would not recommend driving uphill in snow! He emphasised that if he can drive with a trailer then anyone can.

Jonas works at Nordea and had no problems with online payment.

"I was reasonably confident in dealing with a company that works with a large group such as IKEA. As a business concept, I can understand the idea of offering a trailer for free, as it gives IKEA an advantage over its competitors and it creates an advantage for me as a customer. It is a new approach."

Since Freetrailer awarded Hornsleth's painting in front of Nordea's headquarters in Islands Brygge, it lifted the veil on some of the developments that Freetrailer were involved in. It was discussed that both are now working with a real estate agent and the launch of a new Freeparty concept, where you can borrow a trailer full of tents and draft facilities. Jonas was particularly enthusiastic about the draft trailer.
