Free Use of Trailers at All Bilka Stores
Freetrailer - 10-09-2008
Free use of trailers at all Bilka stores
From the beginning of September, Bilka customers have the opportunity to carry their own purchases home. Bilka has signed an agreement with Freetrailer, who offer the use of free, advertising-financed trailers to private users.
"The agreement with Bilka is a good step towards our goal of providing 500 free trailers on Danish roads by 2010. Bilka is a serious business that is very customer oriented. Through the blueprint, Bilka has evaluated that our concept will be a good service to their customers," says Managing Director of Freetrailer, Allan Sønderskov Darré.
Blika has chosen to cooperate with Freetrailer to meet their customers' needs.
"We have chosen to offer our customers the ability to use a Freetrailer to make it easier for them to take home their large purchases. We tested the concept in our Tilst store with great success and knowing that the Freetrailer concept has been working well for more than three years, we are looking forward to a very good partnership with Freetrailer," says Jørgen Klüwer, Bilka's Operations Director.
In connection with Freetrailer's concept test at the Tilst store, Bilka conducted a customer survey which showed that customers were enthusiastic about the free option. 95.3% were satisfied or very satisfied with the Freetrailers.
"It is an extra bonus for us that Bilka has conducted a professionally recognised full-scale survey which shows what customers think about our service. It is something that motivates us for our upcoming expansion," says Allan Sønderskov Darré regarding the survey.
Freetrailer has been renting out trailers for free for the past three years at several locations including all IKEA stores.
The concept behind Freetrailer is to offer customers the use of a trailer for free. This is possible because the trailers are covered with large advertisements which finance the trailers.
Freetrailer has existed since 2003 and has proved that its business concept works so they are planning a further expansion.
"We must go beyond baby steps now. With this new agreement, we have once again proven that we can deliver and that we can cooperate with new partners such as Bilka, so we now have a good base for further expansion," says Allan Sønderskov Darré.
A Freetrailer is free if it is returned to the same location where it was picked up, at the time agreed on the next day. IF you want to use the Freetrailer for longer, it costs kr. 185 per day. You can book a Freetrailer at a chosen location to ensure that there is one available when you go there. You can do this at www.freetrailer.dk and it costs kr. 15.

About Freetrailer
Freetrailer has provided free trailer for the Danes since 2004.
Freetrailer is based on the principle of making revenue through advertising. Trailers, mails and all other communication from the partner companies provide advertising, which allow the free service.
Freetrailer has a new agreement with Bilka's 32 stores where you can pick up a trailer.
Freetrailer is currently expanding their service to include bicycles with trailers. This is now only available at IKEA but if this is successful, Freetrailer will also offer this service to their other partners.
Freetrailers can also be rented for longer than the first free day. The prices are competitive due to their funding through advertising.
